# Security: Avoiding Scams

Periods of change like attract scammers impersonating official channels. Please read this before connecting a wallet or acting on anything that claims to be from Acre.

### Official interfaces

The only official interfaces are:

* [**bitcoin.acre.fi**](https://bitcoin.acre.fi) — the Acre dapp, and the only place to redeem
* [**docs.acre.fi**](https://docs.acre.fi) — this documentation

Check the URL carefully before connecting a wallet. Acre does not use any other dapp domain.

### What Acre will never do

* We will never DM you first.
* We will never ask for your seed phrase or private keys.
* We will never ask you to "verify" your wallet by connecting to an unfamiliar site or signing an unfamiliar transaction.

If you receive a message claiming to be from Acre through Discord, Telegram, email, or anywhere else asking you to take urgent action, treat it as suspicious, especially anything that pressures you to act quickly or share sensitive information.

### Before you redeem

* Navigate to [bitcoin.acre.fi](https://bitcoin.acre.fi) directly, rather than clicking a link from a message or social post.
* Double-check the URL matches exactly.
* Only sign transactions you understand and initiated yourself.

### If you suspect a scam

Report it through official support channels. See [Get Help & Support](/start-here-acrebtc-vault-transition/get-help-and-support.md). Do not engage further with the suspicious contact, and do not share any wallet information with them.
